Description

Job Purpose: WaterStone Bank seeks a motivated Marketing Intern to support the Marketing Department's efforts to establish, build, and maintain a positive image within the communities we serve. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in both digital marketing and event coordination, directly contributing to the bank's visibility and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing:

  • Website Development Support: Assist with the enhancement of our website through research, testing, and regular updates, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Email Marketing Assistance: Utilize email software to help manage customer communication, aiming to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
  • Content Creation: Provide creative input for banking assets such as statement stuffers, ATM messages, digital banners, and in-branch digital signage, enhancing brand visibility and message consistency.
  • Third-Party Collaboration: Work closely with our branch TV vendor to develop engaging content, monitor performance, and manage TV players, ensuring high-quality informational and promotional material.
  • Blog and Intranet Updates: Keep our webpage fresh with new blog content and ensure the employee intranet is updated, supporting internal and external communication efforts.
  • Product and Service Research: Assist in researching bank products and services to support marketing strategies and enhance our offerings.

Event Coordination:

  • Event Planning and Execution: Coordinate and support the execution of bank-sponsored events, managing schedules, preparing materials and supplies, and ensuring each event is successful and aligns with our brand image.
  • Event Participation: Represent WaterStone Bank at sponsored events, assisting with on-site marketing efforts to promote our services and engage with the community.
  • Versatile Role Contribution: Be prepared to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the Marketing Department's needs and the bank's overall goals.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about building a career in marketing, with a keen interest in digital marketing and event management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to offer new ideas and contribute to marketing strategies.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently on projects.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and software is a plus.

Qualifications

Experience

Required

  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows and Adobe applications.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Moderate level of Excel experience.
  • Experience with event coordination and/or activation.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Constant Contact and/or Drupel.

Hours: This internship is one year long. We are looking for an individual who can work about 25 hours a week during the summer of 2024 and about 15 hours during the school year 2024-2025.

Education

Required

  • Currently enrolled* as a junior or senior in a college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in business, marketing, graphic design, or a similar concentration.
