Job Description

The Material Handler will be responsible for the moving of materials throughout the plant and may be designated to a specific area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support continuous improvement efforts in designated area
• When unloading inbound trucks inspect for Food Safety required temperatures and environment.
• Responsible for putting orders together, wrapping orders and verify product and quantity going into stock.
• Load Klement's trucks, deliver product, and unload product between facilities as necessary.
• Unload inbound trucks.
• Responsible for moving pallets to required areas using the pallet mule and/or standup forklift.
• Remove pallets from the freezer and re-palletize.
• Know and drive plant and department procedures for Food Safety, Employee Safety, HACCP procedures and GMP's.
• If driver responsibilities:
• Responsible for inspecting the trucks for damage and operational issues.
• Transfer product and materials between facilities and maintain the required logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education High School diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training 1- 4 years' experience driving a Forklift; Basic reading and math skills. Ability to predict and prepare for production needs as it relates to materials.
Licenses/Certificates Driver's license, clean driving record
Technology/Equipment 6 months to one-year of previous experience in Shipping and Receiving entering product into the system

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses/Certificates Class A or B driver's license
Experience and/or Training: Stand-up Forklift experience

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 lbs while moving product and/or packaging. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and near vision and the ability to see color. Depth perception is required to move around departments and supplies. The employee must be able to hear. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
